EGLURO is dedicated to developing ethical emission reduction projects which deliver the very best environmental and social benefits within the project area. Committed to working with The Gold Standard Foundation, we can ensure that our projects reach the highest standards available.
Having been involved in some of the global carbon market's most important milestones, our pioneering work includes developing and completing the first carbon financed emission reduction project in Nepal.
With a growing portfolio of projects in Nepal, we are enjoying continued success in identifying opportunities, assessing the commercial viability of these projects and entering into agreements for the development of the certified emission reductions potentially available.
A future of cleaner cooking
In Nepal, nearly 80% of households cook using biomass fuels in traditional cookstoves. The household air pollution emitted as a result of cooking this way is the third leading risk factor of early mortality throughout the country. To address this critical concern, the Government of Nepal has established a goal of achieving universal access to clean cooking solutions by 2030. As such, the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) and its partners began research starting in 2017 to build an evidence base that would support the necessary policy interventions and planning to achieve this goal.
